A Z-Mold Frame is used when you have a cased or corner-beaded window opening.

An L-Mold Frame is used when shutters must be mounted flush with the wall or mounted inside a deep-spaced opening.

The shutter frames are assembled with screws on site. We also screw, rather than air-nail, the frame into the window opening. This allows for a more perfect reveal around the shutter door as well as the ability to more easily remove the shutter if necessary.

At Ken's World's Best Shutters your shutters start from the tree. We take rough lumber and manufacture every wood part of the shutter, including the frames, panels and louvers. The shutters are assembled using dowels for strength and extra long self gluing staples in the louvers and tilter bar. Our shutters are then completed with stain or three coats of paint including a lacquer coat for longevity of the finish. Call us today for an appointment to come and see a full tour of our facility.

Dust can be removed by using a soft-bristle brush at the end of your vacuum hose, or gently wiped with a damp cloth if more heavily soiled. Never submerge your shutters in water!

Yes! Even shutters made by other companies.

We sell 2 ½ inch, 3 ½ inch and 4 ½ inch louvers all for the same price. 5 ½ inch is also available for a cost of 50% more.

MDF or “Modified Dense Fiber” is a synthetic fiberboard product used in painted shutters only. Our MDF is made of a high-density material and used only for the louvers. The frame and panel is made of basswood.

MDF does not have the durability or integrity of basswood. Although MDF is more resistant to warping, the louvers cannot be tapered or stained. Basswood is a natural wood which is stronger and can be painted or stained.
